Andrés Sardá Spring and Autumn 2019 swimwear collection

This year's Andrés Sardá Spring-Summer collection is inspired by the world’s most exclusive islands from remote Polynesia to Mozambique, the favourite idyllic destinations of Andrés Sardá customers. The season comprises eight different lines.

The first line, called Tane, combines typical Andrés Sardá ingredients: great pattern, impeccable colours, top-quality materials and a very sophisticated style designed to make the customer feel elegant, sexy, and comfortable. Tane is made from a stretchy pique fabric finished with decorative ring detail and backstitching that can be seen as a nod to jeans. There are four colours: stone, brilliant red, navy blue (with stone backstitching) and yellow (with navy blue backstitching). Tane comes in two swimsuit styles and four bikini styles: from the unpadded halter to the bikini top with hidden padding, a seamless bandeau version, and a triangular neckline tied at the neck. The bikini briefs come in a mini version and in the more classic shape. The pieces are sold separately. Tane also includes a very light short dress that can be worn after bathing and as everyday wear and which matches the colours of the swimwear line.

The collection inspired by the Wakaya Island of Fiji is a line that combines three separate fabrics: a plain microfibre, another striped, and another printed with polka dots on plain fabric which gives it a very attractive appearance. The back is striped with a contrasting edging which finishes it off. The result is an enchanting set. The three colours combined in this set are cream, red, and navy. The other more sophisticated colour option is stone with navy. Wakaya comes in two styles of swimwear (one padded and one unpadded). One of most special pieces is the retro-style swimsuit with keyhole neckline and 1930s-style boxer shorts. Wakaya also includes all bikini styles (padded, unpadded, halter, triangular, bandeau) and a very versatile maxi dress.

Shelter, which takes its name from the idyllic island off the coast of New York, and is a collection in two colours with the same print on a high-quality microfibre. The print is an original Andrés Sardá floral, with more than a dozen colours and very unusual shades: the first is made in separate watercolour-effect shades on a white background and the second on a black background with flowers in blush colours. Both include some small matching pompom details strategically placed on the straps and neckline. Swimsuits come with V-shaped and straight neckline, and the bikinis include separate models: bandeau, underwired, padded, and triangular. The bikini briefs are mini, with ties and tanga. The collection includes a short viscose dress with three-quarter length sleeves.

 Belle is the high-quality, smooth, two-tone microfibre collection which comes in three colour combinations: khaki and black, vanilla pink and black, and Mediterranean blue and stone. Belle includes special pieces, such as a tankini (a top and high-waisted briefs that join at the side), a classic swimsuit, and another with a V-neck) – the inner cup helps to make the neckline. The entire bikini collection comes in several styles: push up, padded balcony, underwired, and unwired. Belle has a very high percentage of Lycra, which makes it very flexible and improves the hold. The ankle-length strappy dress that goes with the swimwear line comes in three colours and is made in a micromodal fibre.

Azura (the name comes from a luxury paradise resort in Mozambique) is new, with a vertical stripe that comes in two colours: red-stone and classic navy, blue and white. It's a classic that is always lovely and, in this design, is finished with a charming bow on all the styles. Swimsuit: this is the classic style with the interior cup and the very special version with deep V-shaped back. The bikinis come as bandeau, strapless, padded, and triangular styles, and the briefs come as high ‘pin up’ and the usual styles.

Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands lends its name to the last collection made in printed pique and crochet lace in the swimsuit version, two fabrics that are combined with a small decorated ceramic bead, in black and white. The collection comes in two very different prints: the first in Chinese porcelain in white and navy blue (very Mediterranean) and the second is an animal print in green shades. The styles: as well as the traditional swimsuits, there is a spectacular trikini and all the usual styles of bikini tops and bottoms of different heights, so the customer can choose the best shape for them. There is short mono that combines crochet and lace.

 Wilson is one of the more special collections as it comes in a plain fabric, with some very elaborate braiding that makes the line one of the most majestic of this season with crossover in two colours, strawberry and chocolate brown. The styles are the basic swimwear styles, a swimsuit with very low-cut hip cleavage and the classic bikini style (underwired, triangular, strapless, bandeau). As well as the string bikini briefs and the classic style, there is a very special style with a very sexy criss-cross side detail. A collection so unique must have a piece for special occasions, in this case a mono.

The Musha series has a very different artisan feel. It comes in top-quality Jacquard fabric, an outer fabric that has become a swimwear fabric, and has a zigzag pattern in very elegant shades. Both the dress and the bikinis include braiding around the cup and on the sides at strap height. The collection includes a trikini with a spectacular V-neck and all the usual bikini styles. The details are small metallic pieces.
